    You may have been right or may have been too high... BUT. I imagine you are a lot like me on pricing your freight and me on selling used equipment.
    I'd have a used forklift, in good operating condition and ask say $4000.
    A knowledgeable prospect would say: Roger, you only gave about $1200 for that thing, fixed it up in your shops slack time, and are trying to make a killing.
    What he did not know; I only gave $800, parts and labor at cost had been about $600. What he had no idea of was I had collected over $2200 in rental.
    Now, the logic I go by... Whatever I have/own and regardless of how much/how little I have put into it, has absolutely no bearing on what I will sell it for.
    I have made killings, broke even, took a then loss to get a winner in trade, pick it up on the come.
    But after getting' F'd over a few times in my callow youth, I widened my horizons as to what my property and time/ability was worth to me...

    (Wishing the guy who takes that load a safe trouble free haul. Being hard up financially should not make for risks.)

    (You cannot protect your house as it shreds off north a 100+MPH with you bouncing around inside)
