You guys mention and comment on MO quite often and the mention of Mexico, MO is familiar to me. I had a long time good friend from there, Roger Moore.
He was born and raised there with 3 brothers. All scattered and he wound up in Tupelo, warehouse manager for Hunter Douglas. Serviced their equipment and sold him new for years. His dad died and he was up to settle things and later we were talking. He mentioned an old Crosley station wagon that was there and he would like to have it to tinker with fixing. My remark was, "When we gonna go and get it?"

He had retired, I had moved in to Traceway, and we had coffee at a "Jacks" a block down from me with a group of contemporaries in truck men, equipment men, insurance adjusters, loan men, etc. Quite a diverse group. You needed an answer, we had three alike and all correct..
Now; as we both were named Roger, the one who was missing any day was referred to as" The Other Roger".... ("Well, where is the Other Roger?)"

"The Other Roger" passed away this past Sep 5th, 2 days after my birthday Sept 3rd. One of our last conversations was regarding: "When we gonna go get that Crosley?" Link is to his obit. Thought one of you might have crossed trails with some of the Moore family in Mexico thru relatives there.

I learned something as a kid. We had a "tool shed." Kept the hoes, rakes, shovels, post hole diggers, 2nd axe, Kaiser blade, and other stuff in it.
Daddy had this 5 gallon bucket half full of "burnt oil" right inside the door. He had made a strong, narrow, sharp edged wooden "paddle".
A high quality custom made paint stirrer if you would compare. You needed a post set, You got the hole digger and a shovel. You went, dug, set, shoveled, tamped, (He shook-Better not give). Took the tools back, then.. AND, scraped dirt off, dipped or swabbed with oil, set aside and ready when needed.

Old adage: If a job is once begun, never leave it till it is done.. Be it large or be it small, do it well or not at all...
