Sounds like the trailer door problem I’ve been having lately.
It started with a cable breaking. The shop replaced both, to their credit. However, the failure lies with leaving the springs so loose they wouldn’t hold the door while facing uphill. This doesn’t fly when trucking in the flatlands where 99% of the docks are those that you back down in to.
Then, another issue reared its ugly head. The left side spring started sticking, which has roughly the same effect of a cable breaking. One time while I was cleaning and jerking the door up, that left spring popped and instantly sucked the cable right up.
It happened again today, and this time I stopped by the shop after I rolled back into the yard to show them. Fortunately, not only did the original issue remain but when the spring popped this time it tore the cable bracket clear off the face of the door right in front of the mechanic.
Maybe now it’ll finally get fixed right.Dale thompson, Feedman, thatsright and 13 others Thank this. -
Seriously, I'm not sure how you got the neck under that thing unless you had the front end of the tracks up on small blocks and then backed off of them. Maybe your neck works a bit differently than ours.Dale thompson, ElmerFudpucker, Feedman and 12 others Thank this.
