I’ve been driving an auto now for about 3 years. I pissed and moaned when I got it but but now have no desire to go back to a manual. 43 yrs of this rat race so time to take it easy.

Well that is good. If he can fix it as long as it fails and you bring it back. Chevy dealer or a Midas type shop.

I drove an auto for a couple weeks when my truck was in the shop and I loved it. Could be a little difficult backing up a tanker with the surge but you just have to try to time it right. They could put me in an auto anytime now.

The OD and heavy haul guys will disagree but for general freight the auto is perfect.

I drove a new Mack with an Mdrive trans for a couple months, and I hated it. But, I’ve heard from some others those aren’t the smoothest transmission either. Good friend of mine drives a dump truck with an Allison auto, and he loves it. I was hauling for his boss for a couple days with our triaxle, which is an 18 speed, and after driving through downtown West Lafayette for several days, 6-10 times a day, I can definitely see having one in a dump truck or other local truck! My left leg was plumb shot! And I never use the clutch for anything other than getting into 1st or reverse either
