Per the Jersey language guru. Me, I preferred the border country while working on picking up a second language. The actual words were not clear but
the oohs and ahs and occasional "oh baby" are encouraging...

Fitchburg? I was at Ft Devens most of 1959. Downtown Ayer had several good pizza places. Family set up, dining on first floor, food prep and all cooking upstairs, Pizza fell from upstairs via dumb waiter chute shaft. Quite and experience for a MS country boy. Was a trolley car/SS diner in Ayer. Lots of traffic thru there. Occasionally a couple of girls would find themselves there from Nashua and be seeking re direction. Leominster and Lowel are names come to mind.
Young, single, in civvies and a southern country boy accent. And mainly still had money from driving before the Army poverty pay.

A quick boat story…I’m hanging out near the restaurant entrance this is the second day when this fellow about 50 years old puts his arm around me and says Santa Santa I’ve been really good can I have a Ferrari for Christmas so I stroked my beard and quickly gaged the crowd then I said wow a Ferrari I’m thinking you weren’t that good I’m seeing a rusty dodge caravan in your future. Well his friends were laughing and his wife burst out OMG he is Santa she was laughing so hard she might have pissed herself.

It was a Justin belt. Had it a long time. Have two (2) others for backup. Never had one fail like that.

It is using that same hole to buckle year after year. Now me; I only use a hole bout 6 to 8 month, then move OUT to the next. Had to buy a new belt in
Sept as had run out of holes. Thinking of getting a used GI web for variable length; but then , polishing that buckle...

The brass buckle back in service
See Dale, it is good to get out. Mess with folks minds or just observe some weird habits. But move.. I get my VA aid ears in; so I can understand verbal acceptance, I intend to be more active. (You can't be real sure how your pitch went by headshakes and facial expressions.)
