Just got home from almost in Canada (Minot). It was 5 degrees at the parking lot. Figured I better treat the fuel. Went and got some. Put more than I needed in. Too bad. I'm cold, tired, and it's late.
D.Tibbitt, thelushlarry and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Those cobblestone bridges are a sure sign that the DOT of that area doesnt know how to plow. Much less how to treat the roads so it would have melted before the thaw. You wont see that kind of mess here in Maine.
Well here is the morning wakeup music. I probably spoiled all of you with the hard rock the last two days.
D.Tibbitt, Dave_in_AZ and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Made it to Kingman. Might as well get a to go box since we're here.
Wind is HOWLING. Gusts to 50 mph around the dam and Coyote Pass.
Q: Why is the giant wind storm following me?
A: Cause I'm just the luckiest mother ####er in The United States.dwells40, Cattleman84, stuckinthemud and 5 others Thank this. -

Just consider California from approximately Grapevine all the way to the Border is deathly afraid of firestorms today because the santa anna has not stopped being ferocious there.
I watched on our PBS station the destruction of Paradise last Nov 8th and understood that the average age of the PGE towers for long haul electricity is 68 years old. Life by design before required replacement is only 65 years. So the power company is the problem among others.
Paradise was 14000 buildings of all kinds on a hill. When the fires reach it at 8:07 in the morning from 7 miles away by 9 AM it burnt out the main hospital and before lunch the entire town was destroyed. 50,000 wanted out. And got out kinda. 85 dead, one in a wheel chair died holding a garden hose against a inferno surrounding his home. There was no way to evacuate him or the other 85.
And apparently we are dealing with this again and again and again.RidgeRunner731, Dave_in_AZ, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The one house item I hardly touched in 21 years here is a snow shovel Unlike the yankees in Maryland. Particularly the '93 storm where we had drifts covering our own home. (That needs about 24 feet.)Dave_in_AZ, WesternPlains and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
We got gipped. It’s only -4 degrees. They promised -9. The record was 6 degrees in 1935.
Dogs were playing in the snow and saw no need to come inside. Must feel warmer because of climate change.
Coffee.RidgeRunner731, Dave_in_AZ, lovesthedrive and 7 others Thank this.
