Grits gets into some very interesting debates.
Not sure if people want to get into it. It goes into history, botany, and chemistry.

Also probably should have said, grits will be white, due to processing of the corn.

Glad I got my miles back in the 50/60's. We did not care where we went, how long it took, and what the load was. Cattle, hogs, horses, mules, farm eqpt, lumber, seed, and feed. 18+ barely, single, bulletproof. TS bunks, hotel, across the seats. Rolled, ate, banked coin. Why we could casually say, Well, jes write my check...We went and come, took care of the rig and the customer (If he was worth it).

2 lane roads, right down main street in most towns, US78 was Ponce de Leon straight thru Atlanta (1 hour was plenty for Douglasville to/thru Stone Mtn) in middle of a day. US80 was Lancaster Ave thru Ft Worth. Just click off the lights as traffic flowed. Zig Zag US 98 from FL/AL line to US 1 junction near Hollywood, FL.
Old roads were narrow and congested, but there were not near as many of us out there then. Daughter said day before Thanksgiving; trucks were like bumper to bumper SB on I65, out of Louisville down to I40 at Nashville, Loosened up then on to Decatur. I have run the 918 miles (chute to chute) from Starkville, MS to Hollywood, FL in <21 hours more than once.

That thar is just about my favorite breakfast Chicken fried Steak with cream gravy, grits with butter, four eggs over easy on top of the grits, and two slices of buttered Texas toast. Black coffee. A waitress with a nice rack and good looking back side to match.

Give him a load of sacked cotton seed to Nogales, AZ. Stretch his legs in open country a while.

My wife is an excellent cook, and there have been very very few times since we’ve been together that I was utterly disappointed in a meal. HOWEVER, several months ago, we were snowed under with zucchini, (who woulda thunk it?) and she decided to incorporate some into a pizza crust. Man, was that ever a no go. I fear I waxed eloquent in my feelings on the subject. And forget teaching the boys to eat everything we give them, I didn’t eat my crust this time around. I had forgotten it, but when I mentioned broccoli pizza crust, she laughed and asked if I was hungry for some more zucchini pizza. And I just got goosebumps typing this out…….

Saw one of those Tesla pickup thingys today in the Mexico of all places. First one I’d seen in the flesh. Hideous. Mom spotted it and said what the hell is that lol.
