With the required by fed reporting of cash transactions over $4k, part of the drug money crackdown in the '90s, and the change over to ATMs lowering volumes moved by the tellers, they been chasing it lower.

Local Credit union has a bill dispensers between tellers that counts out the 20s and 10s like an ATM. 50s and C-notes in in a double lock box like they use to launch nukes. Only thing available to the tellers, and therefore casual thieves is coins 1s and 5s.

Local Chase put up bullet proof sneeze guards during covid -- with interlocked (can only open one at a time) security doors to the teller area.

 

Put up with enough metaphorical B.S. through out the day. Don't need to deal with actual bull produced B.S.?
