Understand what you mean. I left my career years ago. I was in the middle of the creation of the Enron Debacle. Everyone knew it was going to be a disaster before it happened. It was obvious.
Oh how I wish I could work physically again. I'd go for Food Service in a heartbeat. This lower back injury really took me out. At one time, was living in constant pain. Been trying to find the right position to attempt to rehabilitate correctly. I'm still confident I can do it. That's part of where I'm going now. That might work out for me. Along with making a good steady income. I wish my present position didn't die down so much during winter. Really like it alot. Hard to leave.
What if it Snows?

The kind of carnage required as the track ties and stones ground the vehicle and everyone in it to chunks about a mile down.
Taps are good. That means you get to live.
But yes I wonder at the idiots sometime its almost they WANT to get hit. Some of those engines are 500,000 pounds each. The big boy is almost two million full up. With another 10,000 ton to go.
We had a trucker I think a few years ago deliberately put his trailer onto the track. Got cut in half.WesternPlains, Dave_in_AZ and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

I don’t know much other than what my friend told me about Sysco.
He seems to work 4-5 days a week. $26 an hour but he always goes into time and a half or double time. Drives s day cab and he’s new to Sysco so he’s all over LA. If he runs out of hours they get him a hotel. There’s a lot of other stuff but he’s happy and making (according to him) $1800 net on average. Eventually he’ll get his own route. He does call me missing OTR sometimes. He is exhausted at the end of the day but he’s 45 and out of shape. He also says he’s been putting on weight since a lot of the restaurants tend to feed him. lolCattleman84, D.Tibbitt, dwells40 and 5 others Thank this.
