An alternate for cold weather hydraulics is DEXRONII. We used that in electric forklifts in freezers. There is an aircraft grade hydraulic fluid, but was very expensive back then as compared to trans fluid. Using either, it is still a good practice to idle the pump a few minutes before loading it down in very cold applications.
