36F outside. 70F on the sun room porch. No insulation on the porch, windows are some cheapy thing ($30 each at home depot). House was 60F this morning, with the heat of the porch the house is now 65F. Take note @tucker you could do the same on your home. Oh and mud season has started. The garage has 2 inches of standing water. Tho once the ice dam to the left melts, the water will disappear.

My porch ain’t designed that way.
It’s an open covered porch meant for sitting outside and drinking a beer or two.
But you living way up north in the freezing always nasty weather (except for the 2 weeks in summer when it’s sorta warm but nobody can go outside because of the biting flies) you people need all the free heat you can get.
The roof is done and they have electricity inside now.InTooDeep, Lepton1 and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
Truker, get a french drain dug backhoe style in two parralel lines. say 9 deep trench two wide and about 30 minimum length (Feet) and whistle up a dumptruck load of gravel. Fill both until 2 feet below top of trench, fill back in with topsoil from digging.
Those lines can go on either side of the path to your garage doors two square that way most all the water goes away.
What do you think?Lepton1 Thanks this. -
You should open the window when you take a picture.
It’s hot here
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
That’s not my garage.
But later on when we do the finish excavating they’ll put a couple of French drains by my house and shed.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Actually we do have summertime here. The heat is about July 8th to around August 20th. Otherwise our summer is a comfortable 75F from about June 1 to mid September. Probably whay we see people here from the sultry south, the free airconditioning
At least we dont have to worry about tornados heretucker Thanks this. -
Thats where it started... I just pulled onto Grand Island, NE... About 200 miles short of where I was wanting to make it today... I'm looking at nearly 500 miles of road closure between me and Utah... I80 is closed from Kearney, NE to Rock Springs, WY... I guess I'll just settle in for the night, maybe longer.InTooDeep, Lepton1 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
