My driveway and my side of the street clear. But neighbor is going to have to dig out. Got half a street out there. Back yard.... That’s a 6 foot fence there.

Also didn't even bother to use my wood stove. When below zero. It is rather a luxurious heat when combined with my electric. Otherwise don't save no money. Heard comments that this year it stayed cold long. Last year they said lots of below zero. Neither year has my electric bill been as high as $200. Always below.

I ise a wood burning stove for heat in my house... If I didnt have that stove I'd either freeze or go broke paying the gas bill (well the rent bill... Utilities are included in rent. Stays at a fixed rate unless utility usage goes up to much).
I spend a good amount of time each summer in the mountains gathering firewood. I've always had a 2 year supply of wood on hand, until this year as I was too busy to get to the mountains as much as I should have. This summer and possibly the next I'm going to have to make up for it.

And firewood gets you warm 3 times. Once cutting it second splitting and stacking. Third burning it. I cut my firewood at deer camp.

Yes it does... The first year I had a wood burner I split all my wood with a maul and wedge. I was cowboying at the time so I was never home in the daylight, every night in the dark and cold id go split wood for an hour or so. Then haul it inside, by the time I was done every night I was drenched with sweat and had frozen fingers and toes. That is a very odd feeling of being too hot, yet having very cold fingers and toes at the same time. That summer I built a hydraulic splitter. Then I split 10 cord of wood in about 2 weeks of evenings. Best thing I ever did was buid that splitter. It will split 36 inch diameter cottonwood rounds, it struggles a bit if they are green but doesnt even hesitate if they are dry. Smaller stuff (24 inche diameter or less) it does a great job green or dry.

The green one is the one I built for myself, the yellow one I built for my mother-in-law. Her live in boyfriend didnt think they needed one... Then I took mine over to help them split wood one weekend. He offered me an 89 ford pickup truck with a 7.3 diesel, and a nice wood burning stove in trade if I'd build them one. The stove was bigger and better than the one I had so I agreed.

Yeah I quit hand splitting wood when I hit 50. Now at 60 I'm really thinking of buying firewood. But nope I'm too #### cheap and need the exercise.
