Had a buddy in CA. That slip seated fuel tanker for awhile, third shift. He was a clean freak, fellow drivers were not, drove him nuts.
He was running to Yuba city one night when a drunk blew a stop sign caught him in the fuel tank, he said that he was already on the brakes and headed for the ditch when the guy hit him, rolled the truck, crawled out threw the windshield(truck on fire) and crawled away. Said he had just crawled into culvert pipe when the tanks of gas blew. Once healed which took awhile I'm sure because he still ended up burned on over 50% of his body, he went back to log truck, said he felt much safer.

He said the only thing that got him out of that truck was he saw his son waving him to come to him, son was in bed, and over 100 miles away.

The puddy tat is curled up between us on the couch.

I had to get her shaved because she was matted up so bad. That made a difference in her mood.

Then last week I hand fed her a couple cat treats that she ate out of my hand. That was another big turning point. She still watches hands when they get close, but she seems to be a bit less terrified of men now.

Hanging out at a Marathon Truck Stop, 3 miles from tomorrow's drop.

Yesterday I brought my truck to our terminal in W'Sconsin, needing a FUEL LEAK looked at.

Sitting on my butt in the driver's lounge from 645am to 315pm, was taken off the load I was supposed to take to Iowa, and I don't get paid for sitting all day 'cause it ain't exactly a breakdown, and it ain't exactly a layover.

But we got torrential freezing tain that I didn't have to drive in, and the lounge has free coffee and comfy recliners. So there IS that....

Better hope they are smart enough to not let me catch them attempting to do it to either my Prius or my EV.

Don't care which political spectrum they are in.... will end up as fertilizer for a freshly planted trees at the back of the property.

Last gig in Texas was slip seat. Six (6) on , six (6) off. Wasn’t too bad. Everybody was pretty clean and respectful.

At least in a logger it usually your fault if you crash and logs don't explode.
