Getting ready to start the day from Nebraska to NM. Everything in the routing, and weather looks good. Going to get the windshield a good cleaning. Bugs are back in full force in the Midwest.

Yesterday's tain of a hunnert dozen mofos seems to have abated.

After yesterday's epic beatdown of circumstance and Mother Nature, it took me a little longer than normal to get my legs back under me this morning.

But now I have a good main engine start, pretrip is complete, and I'm just waiting for the pretrip clock to reach an acceptable value.

Got a long way to go, and a short time to get there, and it delivers today.

    Later on, folks.....

Nothing better than good pico, and good pico is spicy. We eat a lot of Mexican food, and the problem we have is so many places fix pico to appease white people so those of us who like spicy don't get it. Our favorite place is a small restaurant that's off the beaten path, and that place is top shelf.

Agreed. The jalapeno varies some. But ours contains A LOT of jalapeno. Unlike the kind that's made in NEW YORK CITY,

Years ago, my daughter took her first trip with me in the truck.
Had to deliver in El Paso.
    Camped out at the Petro.
Walked down to a little Mexican place down past the Blue Beacon.
Old man and woman run the place. No English so my kid was able to use her Spanish to order for us.

Nobody else in the place so they came and sat with us while we ate supper and chatted with her.
Great food and she still talks about that trip.

Walking back to the truck she asks me how I would've ordered if she wasn't there.
    Same way I always do.
Point at something on the menu board. Lmao
