He is slowly escalating as allowed by law.

National guard was sent in to assist with policing a violent protest/riot (which has since been declared an unlawful assembly) that could have caused harm to federal employees, troops, and properties.

Marines are being sent in as back up and additional resource/support for the national guard.

 

Hate to say it but there’s Probly gonna be a couple idiots end up dead
