President Lincoln

1862 - President Lincoln signed into law a revenue-raising measure to help pay for Civil War expenses. The measure created a Commissioner of Internal Revenue and the nation's first income tax. It levied a 3 percent tax on incomes between $600 and $10,000 and a 5 percent tax on incomes of more than $10,000.

I heard once, years ago, that a green bike is bad luck.

Several people I talked to had heard that, but didn't know why....

A CRASH of rhinoceroses foiled my plan to leave under cover of darkness.

However, hide count seems greatly diminished.

And I am well rested.

I must have needed it, because I was having some WEIRD dreams. Weird.

Just a highlight from one of them....

I'm in a big company meeting, all the drivers in a big auditorium, and this guy gets up on the stage and says none of the drivers can leave the room, because the company owner is out in the parking lot pulling sticks, and any driver with a truck that's a quart or more low will pay an on the spot fine of $100 or be terminated.

And I'm freaking out because I can't remember if I checked the oil, I only have forty bucks, and I need to piss real bad and we can't leave the room.

And the boss is gonna be out there pulling sticks for a while.....

 

I read this article on sleep.

We're not supposed to set alarms to wake up the sleep cycle.
