    Nope, that was dad and for bootlegging Hermiston water melons to a friend.

    Actually he didn't get in trouble they just took 2 of the 4 he had and sent him on his way.

    Back in the day in Mississippi on I-10 if you was hauling watermelon, onions , sweet taters pretty much anything you could eat they'd pull you over and tell you that you was a little bit heavy. That little closet in them old tiny scale houses was the full of stuff. It was just the cost of doing business back then . I'm talking late 70's early 80's.
    The officer that worked the last west bound scale his wife made the best shrimp salad sandwichs and he always had some for sale. Sometimes I'd buy a couple, sometimes we'd trade for them , depending on what I happened to be hauling. I miss them days.

    We have found down here that doves do the same; eat in the planted field or harvested one, then fly to this little foot deep shallow clear
    pond with the tall slender top foliage trees, and the gritty gravel lined drain. Nice clear access from any direction...
