Road racing is like surfing big waves; smooth, fast and fun until you’re broken and bleeding. I was a race school instructor for a long time. If you’re going to ride road courses I can’t stress enough to work with someone. You can call me and I’ll talk you’re #### ear off, but you need someone to follow. You’re past experience is good, but the consequences on road course are high. Look to the Yamaha school and or someone who worked with Freddie Spencer.

As far as the KTM goes...don’t. Get a Yamaha R6 or Suzuki GSX-R600. More parts donors and more parts manufacturers. It will also be easier to use someone else’s setup as a baseline.

If you can get leathers made from Kangaroo they’re a ton lighter than moo-cow. Get ones that have a #### ton of perforations. You’ll need the air flow.

Try on a bunch of helmets. Some have different shapes. Done worry about buying expensive. It doesn’t mean safer. Usually they’ll tech your helmet and leathers so make sure they’ll pass tech.

If you don’t know how to safety wire...learn. You’re going to do a lot of it.

Buy good tire warmers. There’s a full methodology on how to heat your and cool your tires.

Buy a Honda EU2200 generator. They’ll run your warmers and not make your pit neighbors want to kill you because your harbor freight POS rattles and screams all day.

Do take someone with you. If you crash they’ll need to load your #### while you go to the hospital.

Spend your money on a rider trainer and gear. Not parts for your bike. That’ll come later.

 

As a side note. I’ve been out of racing for more than a decade. Maybe a KTM has a kit you can buy or something. I don’t know. Just remember I’m an idiot and don’t listen to me.

 

Had a middle eastern flip flop driver try to bum a receipt off me at the petro in ontario.

I told him" dude go buy 20 dollars worth of stuff,i need my reciept"

If only the dude knew that they had the gate open and wasnt even checking reciepts lol hes probably still stuck there trying to bum a reciept

 

I am so sorry to know all that sir.... yes.... It is horrible to go thru all that... I can only imagine.... You are a very brave man to face this battle... may you find the right thing to alleviate some of the pain.... I pray that you will get the strength to go thru all this and that you get the right treatment to overcome this situation...
