it rarely gets colder than -40 here, but we get to that at least once or twice a winter. living in it is one thing, trucking in it is an entirely different animal. not a fan. steel turns to glass, and is slippery like ice.

    Avocado translates to testicle.

Most fruitcakes would ask why is there a hole in the barber chair.

Ive been at -40 a number of times. There were a couple of incidents where the dashboard on the century was showing -55 to -58 particularly when fueling that night. We had that idle set at 1500 and took a hour to finish off that 50's era pump. Probably threw away 30 gallons if you worked off the 360 gallon purchase on a pair with total 345 capacity. it was cold enough to drive this sissy inside three times to warm up with coffee 10 minutes each, wife stayed nested in the sleeper. Cab was only 60. Engine temp was not much above 155. No winter front. cold cold cold cold.

Several people locals spent a few minutes teaching me about cold. I was such a tumbleweed back then. But I listened to what they had to say. A education.
