After the Americans bombed the Germans into oblivion at Saint-Malo France, they brought in a bunch of different anti tank artillery to see how much those steel bunkers could take. People commonly attribute the damage to the 2 weeks of sustained fire before the Germans surrendered but the majority of the damage was inflicted long after the conflict had ended.
