Btw, when it comes to building materials and tarping...make sure whatever you're hauling needs tarped. Companies like TMC make their drivers tarp shingles and everything else. Brokers love to upsell tarping to a customer and shippers love to require their crap that sits out in all sorts of weather to be tarped when going down the road.

Most of our customers tarp the load for us. If not and we dont get paid for it, it ain't gettin tarped.

All the near misses I've seen was fail from both of them. Some speed racer driving the truck, or busy with thier phone
And some other person just walking stupid with thier head looking at the ground completely unaware of what is around them.

 

Baby hogs running all over the road. Stupid things won't get out of the way. They run right up to cars.

 

Foam insulation. Whole load weighs 3k pounds. Yes i got paid to tarp.

 

Thanks but i dont work for tmc or central oregon or melton or other places that tarp everything. Say on the bills it needs tarped so its getting tarped. Aint my first rodeo

Reminds me of when I got Polly. Sweetest girl. Brian wanted to get at her badly. I kept them separated for 2 years. Polly in my bedroom. It got to her psychologically. Now, too much stress and Polly loses all common sense. Brian finally couldn’t put up with not ruling the roost. I wouldn’t let him. He took off after 2 years of her in the apartment.
I even asked on another board I talk on about Pirate Kitty. No takers. I’d tend to call him: Popeye.

 

Got an email from Compliance. Got an alert and recorded on cam. Wanted to talk.
She said: Gee... only one alert in first month. That’s good! Let’s see here. Oh... darn thing alerted to over 70. Going down a hill. No big deal. Watch that. I admitted I goofed and allowed one time over 70. Usually catch those hills with the engine brake. This one time road condition great. Let it slip.
This gal is in charge of me for compliance. She’s like talking to DOT. Very level headed. She’s like talking to the big boss at Magnum. Those idiots in safety were always screaming: violation! Violation! ... they’d pass it up to him to get me in trouble. He’d say; You are legal! Good move! .... This gal now is the opposite of those idiots in safety at Magnum. She’s the opposite of many I work with. I won’t complain about people. I keep dealing with this gal. I’m falling in love with her.
