I worked in my youth for a gentleman in Southern Pasadena. He said he got his spacious home in 1950 for 20k. So I would not be surprised if it was to as recent as 1970 before the housing crisis became real. When much of California was still sleepy.

    The mornings wake up music.

Same here. Houston is just like here with the weather. My oldest daughter lives in Houston and I'm always amazed at how identical it is to Tampa.

I'd be more amazed if the weather there was like the weather in Montana.

My 1st house and commercial property I inherited in Tucson. My dad paid 30k for the house and 20k for the commercial property. We spent a year remodeling the house and maybe another 15k. I sold it in 03 for $110k and the commercial property for $130k.

The ahole that bought the commercial prop, put a 10k sq ft steel building on it and flipped it for almost 400k. I was not amused at the time for not doing the same thing.

First house in Cali was 83,000. Was new construction.
The prices in the north bay run a bit higher than the Central Valley.
