This is the new normal for a number of states.
    California, Oregon, Wyoming, Colorado.
I suspect that Idaho and Utah will be doing this soon as well.

California is total BS. They close for 2 snowflakes. The last time I was shut down in WHY-OH-MING, when they opened it, you could see where some fire chief had rolled his blazer on that big grade where Abe Lincoln is, on the eastbound side.

It's another way e log and driver shortage has benefited us.

The ones that are scared doing 20 mph are by far the most dangerous.

They always talk about safety. Safety, safety, safety. But the puppy mills turn solos loose with 0 winter experience, after having a trainer with 0 fowl weather experience.

The OM wants to set an example of how you handle a weather delay.

Bottom line is the money. It cost money to run a plow and salt truck. Pay LEO’s to watch the idiots slip slide along, or respond to crashes and rollovers. Play traffic controller while Tommy Towtruck hauls Billy Bigrigger outta the ditch.

And those are all consequences of the unskilled driver.

Dave, it looks like you may have to have the “your of a certain age” discussion with the OM. I am not saying that the OM has a bit of a belly on her, it just that picture is less than flattering pose.

I mean EMS are human beings too. And there are only so many. They keep the road open, some moron wrecks or cause a wreck, then the hours mount on the responders. Then they get fatigued and start making mistake.

That's why we're doing lots of roadwork and exercising. She fell asleep as soon as I got back. And lack of to go boxes the last few weeks had made a significant impact on her, she's definitely dropped a few pounds.

Truthfully I’d rather look at the “OM” than the one he’s using as an avatar. o_O
