No such thing as being in trouble with dispatch they arent ur boss . If they push u to run and u dont feel comfortable or safe then go over their head to the safety department or somebody higher. Dont let dispatch run u around or put u in bad spots. Load gets there when its safe to drive . Tell them to do their ####in job and call the broker to let them know

Good stuff. I was always scratching my head with dispatch during these moments and I had nobody to contact over it, so...

I'll keep this in mind. The calls I had with some dispatchers really made me want to tie a bungie to their desk, around the stairwell, and out to the back of my tractor some days...

I mean I guess I could always say, "I'll check my crystal ball," if I know they got a sense of humor. lol

Yeah they think they have power over u until safety dept gives them a reality check. Just understand alot of dispatchers have a certain number of loads to clear and they trying to meet their quota just like any other profession. Just remeber they clock out at 5pm and dont give a #### about u after that. Just be careful out there. It aint the time of the year to be pushing it to hard. It dont take much to turn a good day into a really bad week with a little ice that sneaks up on u

I tell dispatcher I can hold off 70 hours fuel and about 4 days reefer. (I usually switch to cycle, where upon it simply goes to sleep with it being winter) speaking of which it's time for me to catch up on sleep as well.

When I need to sleep and don’t feel like it. I use Melatonin. Works good.
Do have to admit. My most respected Doctor on health doesn’t like it. Dr Carolyn Dean. Says: There is too much interaction and things melatonin is involved in. We don’t understand it well. Doesn’t like taking it for that reason.

That’s one thing I love about where I now work. No argument on safety or work/repairs on trucks. There is definite responsibility.
This is why I don’t work at Magnum. Most all the company great. But safety? Forget it. They need a safety department.

Ok I guess NOAA just shifted a bulls eye over central and eastern Arkansas.

That all means it's going to be noisy here. But windcharts have no meaning. So either the storm local winds will be ferocious with tornadoes or not very much wii happen at alll

    SPC has followed suit.
