    Gotta nice easy light load for once , gonna run the rest of the trip like a prime truck and see if i can hit the 10 mpg mark .

    LOL the trip meter says im at 9.2 .been running cali and their stupid 55 limit. Gonna check out how accurate it is when i get fuel

    So some months ago, my truck decided it was only gonna run 1570rpm or 73ish mph in 10th from its normal 1640rpm. No idea why, thought was maybe the speed sensor. Then all of a sudden on Wed it started letting me run upto 1640rpm or 79mph again. I took advantage of that yesterday evening on the way home.

    But, but.... fuel economy :eek:

    Funny though, on last week’s little road trip in my pickup truck, I did better fuel economy wise running 340 in VA than on 81.

    81 is a grind upgrade for 300 miles in one direction and a pain in the other.

    Maybe some of that Georgia overdrive in the west coast will get you over 10 mpg. Ive tried that a time or two by adding just enough fuel to turn the engine over. Then she starts hopping because it's not enough for a given gear.
