Here in Cabo Frio the humidity and the salty air from the sea makes things humid and sticky all the time...
I hang my clothes to dry in the apartment but it takes 2 days for them to dry completely.... with windows open or closed and ceiling fan on... my closet doors have to remain open or things get moldy inside...x1Heavy, D.Tibbitt, dwells40 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Reminds me of Houston. So humid. When it rained. The humidity dropped.
Seriously....was like the rain drops collected all the humidity in the air. The air itself was better.
I love the dry heat. When it's really hot out. Like 110f. All you have to do is get wet. Clothes and all. Don't matter. Step in the shower if you like. The world becomes a whole different place. And your clothes will dry quickly. Like 1/2 hour. Not no 2 days.Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt and Rocks Thank this. -
One of the reasons I'll be moving to OK. It might get hotter than the sun. But it will be dryer and less stressful on my fiance's allergies.

Sheesh 700 dollars later at tarpstop , i have managed to escape!! Went in there to buy some coil racks and left with 2 , 4ft drop tarps, a box of straps and bungees, and 6 coil racks . What a dangerous place to take a credit card! lol

And Hell comes to Arkansas some years. It was not too long ago where it was indexed at about 130 in the shade. That was the year the old 2 SEER capacity cooling pump from the late 60's failed outside. We were up to 114 from 68 in 4 hours inside the home that day and rising.
This is one of the few times I kneeled in front of the two motor samsung god in the kitchen protecting our food and gave thanks (SATIRE...) for the quality.
Replacing with a 16 seer pump and a three ton central heat/air was a REAL operation. 9 days it took and I guess approximately 8000 dollars give or take one. Attic insulation was a thousand by itself delivered by 30 foot box truck. We were down to 52 in a little over 6 hours as a experiment from 124 or so.dwells40, Dave_in_AZ, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
