What if it Snows?

Those pictures are in Galveston Bay. Port comes through the bay. It might look wide open there. They must follow where the channel through the bay. It’s dredged out. Outside of that. They will run aground. The bay isn’t deep.

Is she running that boat with a laptop? She needs some throttles and a wheel for Christ's sake. No wonder they run a ground.

 

The Pilot don’t touch nothing. The Pilot commands. They listen and act. Even the Captain.
BTW.... She is sitting in the Captains chair. She is in command. Period.

 

Nothing new with ships being steered with touchscreens.
Even US Navy ships are. Luckily that's going away after one of our destroyers ran into a merchant ship because of bad touchscreen controls.

The US Navy will replace its touchscreen controls with mechanical ones on its destroyers

 

I got it now. The pilot boards the ship before entering the harbour and runs the show. Pretty coveted job here on the Chesapeake Bay. Only ex navy or coast guard get them around here.
