What if it Snows?

I kept walking on the sand cause the boulevard was way too crowded with folks dancing and following the float...




Folks in the apartments were on the windows watching and dancing as the band passed by...



I could smell pot everywhere... marijuana is not legal in Brasil but during Carnaval and big events, one can smell that everywhere...



Most of the people in those crowds were young... teenagers also...





Brazilians being very sexual people... there's a lot of sex going on in events like those... not on your face kinda stuff but here and there, in the dark corners... Lots of public demonstration of affection... I forgot how Americans call that... something that is illegal in the USA... considered indecency...

 

Brazil is dealing with the COVID-19 in isolated areas at the moment.

As long it as stays out of the Favelas all is well.

In the United States all sex not strictly between two married persons is technically illegal one way or another with 100,000 laws designed to crush the so called joy of living out of many people. So they have to generally get a room and carry on.

PDAs actually are ok in many areas. Tolerated up to a point. Then the crowd loudly yells at you two go get a room darn it! I think in parts of the USA PDA's are a big problem Mormons, Arab/Muslim immigration areas are one example. Actually they are in direct conflict with American Culture, habits, clothing ways and society expectations and manner (Leaving aside Religion totally and Politics as well. I am strictly speaking of areas in the USA that have evolved into what we call NO go areas and it is not a popular topic.) If we were to dress attractively and engage in heavy PDA or petting etc. thier home countries could in some cases execute the couple for that. Particularly those who engage in what we used to call (And still do) crimes against nature just not that bluntly.

In America as Rocks would undestand it's falls to the states "Age of consent" as well as Age of Adulthood as a matrix by which a romance may be crushed and destroyed or allowed to thrive for a while under the Romeo And Juliet Laws. We had such a policy in our school briefly and my girl and I took advantage of that very much. The staff could not touch us for PDA and other forms of affection expressing or love provided we did not explictly reveal the flesh that makes us boys and girls by taking clothes off. Otherwise anything went.

Even in a school situation. Which was way more fun than your basic textbook quix. You both might destroy the grade for the day but that's the least of our concerns. If it's really bad they can collect you two and ship you to a infirmay for a couple of needles and isolation for 4 hours while being watched. You would not be in any position to be doing much of that on either side of the hottened up situation.

I also come from a school situation in which SOME of my classmates (Thankfully not myself directly) were under incredibly strict rules when it came to draconian controls on what they can touch ON WHOM They may ask permission BEFORE they are allowed to touch so and so or NOT. SOME have uncontrollable problems in their systems which really rapidly leads to it's logical conclusion in which they are controlled chemically to the point of being able to barely walk. (Thorizine shuffle) much less communicate well or chase the other sex.

Once in a while we would cross the campus to payu a visit to the trainables to boost their morales. Unfortunately the times of the late 60's and 70's had the staff saying things like, keep up good grades and social scure and you will be "Free" like these children attening "Big School" on the other side of the campus that they aspire to, in part to gain their freedom. But for some they wilL NEVER have for a variety of very good reasons. Birth defects, Childhood polio, infections and injuries from aggressive bad guys, some mental cases from being destroyed by predatory daddies or very dangerous mothers and so forth. Some are pernamently maimed by fire. Those are the ones we loved on the most as children. Grab them and get em into a quiet storage room away from staff long enough for a good group hug. Nothing more.

Because of that particular expression of love through something that once horribly hurt them very much and almost destroyed them mentally they burst into tears and are sunshine happy for a month. And able to put up with the staff's incessant demands " Are you high?" "Did you kiss a girl?" did you let someone touch you (MEaning adult staff who prey on the weak youth) and a thousand other questions. Some more important than others. Why are you smiling? Did you eat the foods or drink something you are not allowed to? We will have to take you to Hospital to clean the blood, pump stomach out or execute a form of Diabetes treatment or even eliminate the protein from the banned burger products. (Intolerance of some kind)

That does not stop us from grabbing those who are really, really hurting and feeling low to play games with them of the kind they enjoy very much and totally, totally banned in their normal days such as Football. Physical games. They can perhaps concentrate the built up ANGER against a counsler and tackle same downfield to prevent them from getting a touchdown, and not get in trouble for it.

Yes they had a life. But for many that stopped when they graduated to get a job as a Dishwasher. Nothing else was expected of them for 80 years of their freedom. Which they do for the most part have.

 

On my way back to the hotel, I went by all the tents with tables and folks eating, drinking, dancing and having parties, and small bands playing all sorts of music...

Looks like the "gay guy" style is in "fashion" around here... I've seen A LOT of guys dressed like that... looks like a "ballerina" outfit...

Now.. that's something I found "silly" to say the least... they had a kid, a boy, dressed like a pink ballerina with bunny years leading a "chain" of older guys dressed the same way... and moving around the crowd... At that time, past midnight... watching the girls wiggling and twerking their butties and all the grinding and dancing going on... I don't think that's the right environment for a kid that age... but then, this is Brasil... there were other kids and girls even younger there, watching and doing the same... that's pretty "normal" in Brasil...

No sir.. they don't work much here in Brasil... Not this time of the year.. From Christmas all the way to the end of Carnaval.. it's party season.. one party after another... and Brazilians LOVE to party... they have holidays and celebrations for every reason.. even the religious celebrations are holidays and people party...
That's why I get so psssd when I need to conduct business in Brasil this time of the year.. when nothing that I need is open...
Let me tell you... one time, I was hit by a vehicle, broke by bone and needed surgery...
Unfortunately, that was beginning of Carnaval and all doctors were vacationing... I had to sit at home with a cast around my chest and arm for one week waiting for them to come back to the public hospital.. and after they arrived I had to wait a few more days because there was always someone in worse shape than I... and that went on for a while... until my mom got really MAD and started getting ugly with doctors and nurses and so they had to operate me...

I appreciate the happy thoughts. The State School had alot of impact on me.

1-Freedom. Most valuble blessing ever.

2- There are those who are not free and no amount of anything can make them free. HOWEVER if they are at play outside with the laughter and I guess party sounds to match coming from them towards others, then they are truly free in life.

Amazing how that works. And the Children? They never a chance to learn anything truly bad in the world. And those are the ones that get me every time.
