When rules and regulations halt commerce then we would need to clear some of that up. The biggest thing is that when the container of Asian made coffee pots arrive on our west coast after a month at sea the brokers cannot stand to wait a few days to get it to the east coast and into the stores where it will take about a month to sell all of them.

Ah, but are you a resident of Arizona? Dave's situation is because of where he lives/registers his trucks. As well as possibly a Landstar requirement.

    WesternPlains Thanks this.

The rules are for trucks that operate in California. Not dependent on where trucks are domiciled.
Trucks with engine model year 2000 are legal until the end of 2020.
Exemptions are available for trucks operating 1000 miles or less per year statewide, 3 day permit once a year for out of state vehicles or trucks that operate exclusively in nox exempt counties.

Ok so how does that make you compliant? And how are you driving for Landstar if you're domicile is California?

    WesternPlains Thanks this.

No it's not. They cut ties with anyone with a California cdl. Unless of course you're committing willful tax evasion.

Really suck if the franchise tax board found about that.

That might even involve a criminal charge.
