Hey.. if you don't know right now, give it some time to think it over... make the decision with a calm mind...

He's actually a small business. Not a carrier. Three OTR trucks. Takes his product out. Arranges runs to work around and get us back here.
This one has no benefits at all. Crete has all of them. yes medical, 401k, yadda yadda yadda

I can say one very important medical benefit to this job. No Stress. None at all.
They say that Stress is probably the biggest cause of cancer. I get sick much less because of lack of stress.

Was thinking strongly on this last night and this morning...
I was coming up on my 14 and 11 at same time. Very close. Figured I better pull into this truck stop ahead. Spend the night. No big deal. No stupid Elog screaming Violation(!) if I'm one second over. ... Then just wound down. Went to sleep. Woke up when I felt like it. Then left.... lets say generally at the 10 hour mark. Only had 100 miles to go to get "home" to the business (terminal).
    That was so nice.
And I did follow the intent of the HOS. I could have cheated and gotten home last night. I got too much respect for DOT. There's a reason for HOS. FMCSA and elogs don't comprehend that.

Yeah... but gotta see the BIG picture... benefits may be a great deal but look at everything else.... consider what is important to you most... what your plans are.... how do you see yourself working for the next few years... if you have already worked for that big company, you know somehow what to expect... trucking has been changing rapidly and some companies are struggling to survive...
Me, I list all the "positives" and "negatives" and the +/- to help me with decisions... but I take quite some time to make them...

That's quite important... Stress is the cause of so many illnesses... not only cancer... a lot more...

I would love to work for a company like that... with no ELOG... no automatic transmission, no "safety system" and no noises to alert me I'm close to the zipper or the vehicles ahead... that's INSANE... and I don't know if I will be able to work in a truck like that... Other drivers don't have that problem... they were able to adapt... Each one is different...

It was a whole lotta fun driving down I80 at 70mph. I just took it easy there. Runnnin' by all the carriers governed at whatever. I could have gone faster. No governor. The truck can do it too. It's very stable. Heavy duty truck. It drives beautifully....

Benefits... when I started trucking I didn't have benefits cause I didn't want them... and never needed doctors or dentists.... if I did, I would pay them myself... It was only under Obama's health care that I was forced to get health benefit...
Nowadays... I don't know... getting older might make a difference... and most of my health problems have to do with lifestyle in a truck... no exercise, no regular routine, not enough sleep, not eating enough as I should and a lot of stress... I would have to quit trucking then...

If you notice just how conservative looking that label is on the door of a Crete truck. That pretty much illustrates the company. Very conservative. Even though, yes they must be involved with the FMCSA. That's according to DOT. DOT says the mega's have more influence on the FMCSA than DOT has. That provided...
Crete does understand all of it. The people making decisions act with comprehension and consideration. They know how to work it all.
They gave me a chance with 48psp points. Also libel on HireRight...claim from Magnum I had a preventable backing accident. I didn't. Coming down on Magnum about that right now with government help. Still Crete gave me a chance. Proved out good. Had a dash cam on me for first two months.

I was surprised.... went and got my DMV record. Clean DMV. Nothing on that ticket in Ohio. Seems there is an active plan to keep stuff off your record because of FMCSA points system. DOT has told me in more than one state: DOT don't like it one bit!
