A few years ago I ran for a scumbag that had me pick up a Prostar in Tulsa from the International dealer because it had so many issues it wouldn't pass an inspection on top of the air compressor being bad so it wouldn't build any air. Luckily the air tank had a port on it and I got one of the employees to use a service truck to fill it to 120psi, then I drove it 16mi to a small shop that put a new compressor on it, but ignored everything else wrong. I barely got it there, had right at 40psi left when I rolled into their drive.

Just a side note, unless things changed in the last couple years, there's two types of those valve knobs. One type just screws on and the other has a very small pin that slides thru a set of holes once the knob is lined up properly with the valve.

TA has the valve and can fix it in 30 min once your in the door. It can get bad enough to put you on the side of the road. So yeah, 200 bucks is a good deal and piece of mind. It's what I would do when time is of the essence. Sometimes you got to roll.

Right, exactly. I have neither the skills nor the tools to do such a thing.
However, I do have the money to let someone else do it for me.
    Thanks 650.

    Y'all wanna see something crazy?

Pull up Google maps, turn on traffic and zoom out so you can see all the cities and states. All the major cities are green. There's no traffic.

Honestly, in your position under a load, I'd do the same as you. That's no time to adjust the learning curve. Just figured I'd give you a little knowledge that may stick with you in the future. Proceed :)

Drive it over here to SA, I'll fix it for $100 and then drive the truck for ya for 40% of the monthly gross of the truck as a 1099 contractor too.
