man, we can spare some. we've had more snowfall here in the last 4 days than we got all winter. I've chained up more on the highway than I have in the bush lately. ugh

That is one load i cant ever figure out how to get. It never hits the loadboard when im here and none of the agents i have asked, know anything about it . if i could get a connection to those loads, it would be a lot easier getting out of az.
Icalled on a landstar load this afternoon out of LA going to virginia. im hoping i can cash my ticket with that one, just waiting to hear back in the morning

When I started driving for my former company they had 35 trucks and now there are 23... there were 3 dispatchers, now there's one... there was a lady answering calls, she is long time gone, there was a maintenance man... he's retired now and the new one used to be director of operations... there were 3 mechanics, now there are 2... they used to do PMs on trucks every 25000 miles, now it's after 30000 miles and trucks were traded off after 500 thousand miles and now they will keep them till 700 thousand miles... the lady who used to do only payroll now does that + several other tasks... The only dispatcher they have now is a former driver who seems very disconnected with trucking conditions nowadays and drivers requests.... I was told they got rid of their long time warehouse in Ontario, CA.... that was a safe haven.... whenever we needed a place to park overnight and avoid traffic and leave very early.... that warehouse will be missed dearly... but the company could no more afford the taxes there...
I wonder how much longer they will survive... sounds like they continue having difficulty keeping drivers nowadays....
I can rejoice my memories with them... I had a GREAT time in that company... made a lot of money.. ran more than anybody for two consecutive years and was Driver of the Year in 2017 and won most miles driven safely in 2018... It was fun and a great experience with a company that was much more than just a carrier because of the charitable events we participated delivering donations and things like that at all kinds of places most were not for trucks... a totally different experience! :biggrin_25519:

Ive been buying by the case for the last 4 months. One case for myself a month and another for the pantry as needed.

Our USS Constellation was stripped of it's guns and part of the crew to load with potatos for the Irish Famine in the 1800's out of Baltimore potatos on the deck piled high and below. It made it there. However you can bet the crew was sick of potatos after that voyage for a while.

There is copper. However for a variety of reasons that copper is rather precious. and the people who are involved in it are pretty quiet about it.

I looked into it some time back for story telling with someone and found that it's pretty limited. But possible.
