As much as I agree, we both know the general consensus in this country is that we can't survive without them. Where else would everyone beat their kids, get their oil changed, buy frozen dinners, and clothes that are one size too small... all at the same time???
What if it Snows?

I'm in full agreement, but... Kmart is closed, sears is done, the old stores in my area i.e. hills, gee bee's, Ames, etc. have been gone for years, forced out by Wal-Mart. So who would replace them? As much as I love mom & pop stores, there aren't enough of them to make up for the loss, and the ones there are, don't have enough inventory to be a steady source of supply. What do you think the answer would be?Deere hunter, WesternPlains, Rocks and 4 others Thank this.

Don’t forget buy a puppy in the parking lot from local puppy mill breeder. I swear, down south Saturday’s at Wal mart is a festive event.Deere hunter, dwells40, WesternPlains and 5 others Thank this.

Wal marts getting too fat and lazy, like Kmart did. Same will happen eventually. Prices aren’t that hard to match, they’re customer service, and stores are terrible. First sign. That’s what happened to Kmart. It took 20-30 yrs. but eventually they imploded.Deere hunter, dwells40, WesternPlains and 6 others Thank this.

Someone will start up anew. The thing that catapulted them to where they are now is when they combined the produce, meat, and frozen foods parts in the stores. The super Walmart.
One stop shopping.
Now you can buy a car there.
But climbing to the top and staying there, are two very different things. Just ask Sears or KMart.
Couple guys will come along and knock 'em off. WinCo has thrown their hat in the ring, but haven't quite got it figured out yet.
A difference maker would be customer service.
Look at Target. Their customer service is absolutely ####, but somehow they survive and thrive. Women like Target. As where Walmart you get more toothless hillbillies.
Somebody with the drive at the top will knock 'em off.
Look at the one Wal Mart heir...……...face plant in his ultra light. Amen. That shows chinks in the armor to me. Once guys lose interest, their zeal for something, it's just a matter of time.
Build a better mouse trap, and they will come.Deere hunter, dwells40, WesternPlains and 3 others Thank this. -
There is a socializing phenom that has formed around Walmart. Families getting together at Walmart after religious service. Kinda like the folks that socialize at Starbucks. When that starts to drop off because a better substitute is found.... Then Walmart will start the fade away.Deere hunter, WesternPlains, Rcranch81 and 1 other person Thank this.

You have quite the entrepreneurial spirit... I'm in full support of Dave-Mart! You can even have your own fleet of trucks to supply it.
Deere hunter, WesternPlains, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.
