I have several AR-15s, two of which I built myself, and mine are very “ retro”. Some people on the other hand will try and take full advantage of a flat top upper receiver and a 4-way handguard to mount every conceivable doodad they can think of, flashlights, laser sights, you name it. It’s like there’s some sort of competition among mall ninjas.

I wish I had remote start on my truck. It'd be nice to fire it up from the front door, then make my coffee while it builds air. And at night I could shut it off or start it up as needed.

Yea I'm bored here at the house and thinking about random stuff.

Can’t have one on my pickup. I have to be in it to push the clutch in.

Competition... yeah, you're right. The bigger, the most sophisticated and expensive ones... one day there will be a machine gun one won't even have to aim or pull the trigger... it will do it all by itself... like an autonomous gun that you can program by remote... :biggrin_25523:

Several manufacturers make systems that work on manual transmission vehicles. What I used to use on my vehicles was...I can't think of the brand now, I'll have to look it up. But it basically has a neutral safety switch, so the vehicle has to be in neutral or it won't start. As an extra step, you can put a contact switch on the shifter so if the vehicle is in 1st gear it won't start. Or you can rig it up so that a contact switch is on the parking brake and if it's not in contact the vehicle won't start.

Edit: Compustar is the brand I like to use.
