I like MHC. But they're all the same when it comes to selling trucks.

Oh he's been going broke and complaining for a long time. He noticed awhile ago he cut himself off from a lot of loads do to the weight of the truck. Can't go to California.

    here's his own words.

For Sale: 2007 FL Coronado. ARI Legacy 2 132” sleeper. 14L 515 hp Detroit with ~45k mi on rebuild w/paperwork. Landstar Inway leased truck pulling company vans. I just want out of it. Payoff is about $75k.

And a 14 year old truck with 2 million miles......at Landstar...…….where all you need to do is fail several inspections and you're history, is just a lease waiting to be canceled.

2500 miles a week, 7 vs 5 mpg. at 2.50 gal. 1150 mo. fuel savings, and very little maintenance and full warranty. Hard to beat that argument. That’s why you buy new. Otherwise you’ll be chasing your tail getting an old Truck repaired all the time. Spending more than the payment is on a new one. Add downtime - lost revenue, and less resale. Unless someone’s like Me, runs with a leaking fan, fixes it himself, when convenient (never), and puts up with constant minor annoyances Like door, dash, and a slew of minor things to fix or upgrade. I keep my old Truck, because it costs less to park it, and no stress of having a payment. But by no means does it actually make any more money, when it’s running the same trips as a new one. Too much downtime, it makes less.

I’m thinking if he really wants out he needs to think about 40k less.

I think they all have little stuff, even new trucks.

I think you're ok until you start getting real long in the tooth 800K or more. But that's when you trade up.

Casper is 7.2 lifetime. Again, that's a driver thing. Truck 4 is like 350K miles and is 7.8 lifetime.

Truck 4 was the easiest Landstar inspection I ever had lol. He's like, " This is like brand new."

    I said no it's a 14' 350K miles. Dude's like, " It's not even broke in yet." lol

    That's too bad.

Would running a spread axle van (ups trailer gross to 40k) help compensate on the weight? I'm assuming that truck/trailer set up weighs in around 37k? So as long as axle weights stay legal, it could gross around 43k?

I hate to say it, but I've seen some REAL rough trucks running for Landstar.
