The only memorable incident in those conferences was a hot mike incident in which President Reagan spoke "Bomb Iran" not just bomb but nuke them. That particular item ran through the Nation like a greased lightning. Took days of bending over backwards to soothe the feathers then.

 

Saw a bad wreck last night... I-80 Eastbound side in NE, cant remember the MM. Semi drifted off into the median for some unknown reason and side swiped his truck into the pillars holding up the center of an overpass. The pillars caught the front of hus van and ripped the trailer off the tractor. The back of the trailer was in about 1000 pieces and wrapped around the pillars.

On a seperate note... I-80 WB is closed at MM 8 to MM 1 in NE. There is a detour that takes you onto US30 then back to I-80.


Edit: oh yeah... About 1 mile west of that wreck there was a truck pulled over on the west bound side.... With 4 statetroopers!!! Not sure what the issue was, but I think a driver was going to jail.

 

Examining my dinner, I think the stove went wild tonight.

There I stood in my fluorescent yellow shirt trying to make sense of what I was seeing.
I went into an illogic loop for a few seconds.

So driving north on 5 today minding my own business running 59 mph when I see a convoy of flashing lights coming from behind. Just before the airport (in Sacramento) I ease on down to 57 and I see to DOT CHPs running with a oversize taking both lanes. So I watch them gaining on my ### I ease back up to 59 nope still gaining on me. So the lead CHP catches up to me gets next to my window and is yelling at me to GOOOO. I says fine with me I speed up to 65 nope still not fast enough 70 nope 75 there we go now they are just pacing me. So dor the next 20 miles I'm getting an escort. I exit and they keep rolling down the highway. Two things 1 they were lucky no traffic. 2 why the hell were they in such a #### hurry. Saw them in Truckee in the chain up area when I went through they must have been rolling pretty good to catch me

 

I've had the same thing happen on 10. I was up to about 65 and they're still coming lol. So I got off, got back on.
