Yeah it does... The way the rim is shaped it concentrates the heat all around the Dutch oven, with very little heat loss laterally. I would guess that 80% to 90% of the heat is directed up. Even in windy conditions.RidgeRunner731, Wasted Thyme, dwells40 and 8 others Thank this.
