. I’m glad to hear that maybe there is new management because a few years ago that place was filthy.

I’m a bit of a clean freak. Dave can tell you what the inside of my truck looks like.

The 49er is not brand new like a freshly opened P/FJ. It’s well worn, and poorly laid out. If I was a suburban mom I’d be disgusted. It more than passed my old school truck stop test. The best way I could say it was they definitely try to keep it clean and the night shift/morning girls are full of character. They weren’t like the zombies at a TA.

The place is usually full of locals. Great character studies. Yep a bit old and worn. Seems they always have some repairs in progress. When you stop in on a more regular basis, the staff will get to know you.
The fried bologna or fried egg sandwich, biscuits and gravy, meatloaf or pork chops. In the morning you can get biscuits with about any meat plus egg and cheese.

Order tip; ask for country ham biscuits with tomato slice. If the grits are fresh, good to go. Just don’t put sugar in them. Butter and black pepper, maybe shredded up ham if you want.

Old and worn down a little doesn’t bother me but grunge and filth do and the few times I’ve been there it was bad.

Only if the name of the day contains any of the following words... Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Birthday. And even those dont guarantee anything... Lol

Better a brake light than a brake chamber.

I'm begining to think this career path may be the death of my marriage... :(

Guess I should have seen it coming from the start.

Oh that's never a good feeling to have... if it was a happy, healthy relationship before, I'm sorry to hear it and wish you the best. If it was rough and rocky to start with, maybe it's for the best!
