I have been a used cheap car buyer for 40 years. My last 2 cheap good used cars were my 4 year old perfect condition one owner Nissan Pathfinder LE with 75000 on it for 18 grand. The sticker New was $34000.

Just recently found a 2003 beautiful one owner Chevy Van converted by explorer with 90 thousand on it I gave 12 grand for.

Good clean used cars are hard to find and granted cars are way to expensive these days

Can’t imagine trying to shop for a good one with less than $10,000 to spend.

I know what to look for and shopped endlessly but ultimately both vehicles fell in my lap because I had the money and are paths crossed

But the Peace of mind knowing your wife and kids are in a newer vehicle when it’s -20 out and they live out in the sticks is a necessity when you are halfway across the country.

I’ve dealt with used vehicles and done my own repairs for 40.

It’s ungodly expensive to live these days. I don’t know how families feed their kids or pay these outrageous rent prices if they don’t own their home.

Lol... No. I really loved the work as that (amoung other things) is what I was raised doing. But working as cowboy for hire just dont pay the bills these days, at least not if you are a family man.

In the 80s Dad got $1800 a month plus was provided with a home (including utilities) for our family. 7 years ago I was getting $2000 a month and nothing more aside from some perks... Such as I could run a few head of my own cattle and horses with the bosses stock if I so chose. And the occasional use of the ranch equipment for personal use. Pretty hard to raise a family on $24k a year.

So I followed the money when the time came and doubled my annual income overnight. Then 3 years ago I got into driving fulltime and increased my annual income by yet another 30%. Thus enabling my wife to quit her $16/hour job and be a fulltime mom to our 2 (soon to be 3) children.

Ever meet someone so dumb and uninformed that you can’t even fathom them? (Other than me)

Yup. Met a trucker who went to great lengths to explain to me that white t-shirts don’t get as smelly as black tees. Yes I was doing laundry. Yes I know a metric #### ton about apparel from years of selling it to surf shops. Yes he based his knowledge off the da Vinci code or something. If he had said to me black tee’s come from black sheep I wouldn’t have been surprised. Yes it was cotton we were talking about. Yes I stopped talking to him about 3 minutes in. Yes I realized saying good morning to some people in Indiana is a bad idea. Yes I learned my lesson. No I’m not sorry for telling you, if I hadn’t I may have had a stroke trying to let it go.

He looked like pig pen from The Peanuts comic. No he wasn’t doing laundry he was waiting for the bathroom. No idea who he drove for or what kind of flat bed/step bed he had.

Dude wrecked my brain for 30 minutes after I just walked away from him mid-sentence.

He is probably eligible to vote. Sorry to make you worry about that.

Well if they don't come from black sheep, where do they come from?

This receiver was kind enough to let me use a porta john instead of their restroom. I think they’re just trying to help me strengthen my immune system by breathing in the aromas of dark water. Corona doesn’t stand a chance against me.
