I'm at the TA. Columbia NJ. There is a bar across the bridge with cheap bar food and food specials. It was 1.50 hamburgers. $3 with bacon cheese and veggies. Scallops and shrimp were $15. Nice old lady ran it, bunch of friendly small town bar flies.

Well I walked over there some one bought it and it's closed. No liquor license. Big application sign in window.

So I could haven't gotten a load hazmat going into NYC. Paying 3k 530 miles, but I'm scared to go into queens with a SD. When I got around to deciding I would do it. The agent wouldn't answer the phone even though it's on the load board. Now that would have started good for a Monday. I'll probably dead head to Hubbard and pick a big load(hopefully) going some place on Monday or Tuesday. But I could had 3k on the gross by Tuesday morning. I feel dumb.

Since we're talking 5th wheels, anyone ever use one of those aluminum ones? I'm not sold on them, but I've never used one either.

never even heard of one! man, you'd really have to keep on top of keeping it greased, aluminum against steel is a lot higher friction.

The ones I've seen had those teflon pads built into or onto them. I would think the friction and issues of having steel against aluminum is the reason for those, plus not having to grease it.

Aluminum is softer, so it will also wear faster.

Truth be told, I don’t like the idea at all.

I agree. For some reason, I think itd be prone to stress cracks as they age too. That definitely would not end well.
