What if it Snows?

Yep its been some pop up storms here past couple of days

 

Start with a decent sized mellon. You can do wedges or slabs. I tend to do slabs.

Cut the Mellon in half, then slices about 2 inches thick.
On a large plate or dish, stand on the cut edge and let drain for a while. Usually cut and stand while I do everything else.
Seasoning. A very light salting about 10 minutes before cooking. You can put chili powder or other spices on it.
Another favorite is honey lime sauce.
To make the sauce, 2 or 3 tablespoons honey, About 1/4 cup lime juice, a tablespoon or so olive oil. Put is bowl, microwave to just warm, 30-45 seconds, whisk to mix.

Grilling, get one area of the grill quite hot, put mellon on that side of grill to sear for 1 to 2 minutes, turn and do other side. Then move to cooler side of grill, about a medium low. Slather some of the honey lime on it.
Cook to firm tender.

Ive never seen a city with so many aerial burst fireworks going off on the 4th... The entire skyline of Rapid City, SD is colored with them... It's quite impressive.
