I lived in NJ as a kid. Some of my friends are still there. Alas the house we had (1900 farm house) has been torn down and replaced with three mcmansions.
On the other hand, the family used to summer where I live now. Everyone up here helps each other. Here in Maine is like what NJ was like back in the 1960's. To this day, I still meet people that knew of my fathers legacy from when he lived here in the 1950's. Thankfully I am not blowing myself up in a quarry. Yes he did that, there are wedding photos of him in a full body cast.

My error, should have said 41st street. The house was on 42nd. That would be Cliff Beach, towards Capitola side. A bit south of pleasure point. Surf along the point was good, so sometimes we did.
Used to sail out of the marina between seabright and twin lakes. Surf was not as good there, same for the area around the boardwalk. Go north around the lighthouse point, that was better.Blu_Ogre and WesternPlains Thank this. -
