Ok, I’m declaring August as fifth wheel adjustment safety month. Since mine will be brand new, I’m all in. No more greasing it very lightly, twice as often, to keep it from banging. That’s the trick when it’s wore out, and can’t be adjusted. Ohio actually had me do a tug test once, during an inspection. Luckily it was a bit dry, I passed. Just a bit dry, not enough to affect steering or ruin the plate on the trailer. The bangings not good. Ruins the pin on the trailer.

A Glider Kit is a Brand new Truck, minus engine, trans, and rears. Though, I think you can order them with new rears, already installed. A new Glider, with a pre Jan 2000 engine, is exempt from ELD. That’s why they’re trying to put an end to it. I like the idea of buying a used Glider. As long as its been a good Truck. I’ve seen more than a few with problems. From driveline, to electrical issues. Kind of defeats the purpose of reliability, if it’s hacked together.

My last level 1 in Washington the dude had me tug test.

Think I'll have mine adjusted as well when I get home.
