That was quick. When I first got this Truck, the tanks were both turned a bit. It would run out at 1/8-1/4. It happened quite a few times at first. Last time, because I had slept too long on an entrance ramp, I was able to switch to the right tank, where all the fuel was. I made it another 40 miles, and Finally fixed the tanks while they were empty. Must have ran it 4+ yrs that way. Real pita. Hopefully they can fix the guage. Sometimes it’s as simple as bending the float rod.

My company's western star ran out of fuel while in at the pumps with a fat 1/8 on level ground one day

Shop had rolled the tanks so you had better access to insert the nozzle so that explained the way the gauge never fell barely fell until you hit 1/2 than started dropping like a rock from 1/2 to just below 1/4.

your drawing off the bottom half of circular tank with less to no volume once you hit 1/4 tank on a conventional mounted tank , rolled tank on my truck had nothing because of pickup height .

After that happened I bought a yard stick and marked 1/4 on it after I very slowy added fuel and watched gauge until the gauge showed 1/4 tank

Than fueled till gauge hit 1/2. And 3/4. Than Full. Stopping the flow each time and marking stick and recording gallons needed between levels .

Gave peace of mind knowing exact amount of gallons between the gauge readings.

My twin 100s could only Take 165 filled from empty sucking air.

My personal truck is getting a site gauge installed.

Had some great Chinese food tonight. Its been a while, covid kind of killed my appetite for it. Had to take a nap afterwards. Just got back from my Truck. She cranked right up, bob tailed around about 6 miles. Sitting here thinking about all the work that I need to do. My mind pictures a POS. But She’s looking good. Running good. For all the bad rap Freightliners get, they’re pretty dependable.

Hey guys, new truck driver here. Had a couple questions. But first, before I pull out of this parking lot, do the red and blue airlines do anything different? I was thinking of mismatching them, and making two purple lines.

Man there is nothing more better than the rumble of the big train coming thru , with the big loud horn , echoing. I always try to find truckstops right next to the tracks . Love the trains. Puts me right to sleep. No not being sarcastic either

Have you ever lost a race? I dont think there are many rails that run over about 60 mph anymore.

Well this is an interesting duty status... Got to love when the ELD decides to be stupid.
