Get a water pistol/rifle like the kids use in swimming pools.
You and the wife go down the road, loop and she drive back.
When he comes out, wet him down. May take a time or two for you to get the range and douse him. Worked for my son in laws dog, your results may vary.

 

We hit 102 today here in the Sonoma county and expecting 105 tomorrow. Fortunately we get the ocean breeze in the evening and it should get into the low 60's before sunrise. The wife is heading to Applegate tomorrow for a few days to visit her mom. She'll be sweating with the oldies all week up there.
