I'm supposed to be in bed, 'cause I'm leaving out in the small hours for TN.
Instead I'm pumping up my r/r car tire.
Lucky the missus saw it while she was coming in from grocery shopping. Woulda sucked if I was confronted with that at 330am.

That truck is now beyond trash.
Used to have a cabin up on our property. Was metal roofed. PG&E burned the mountain down. The fire crews bombed our place really heavy with that fire retardant stuff.
That stuff is really corrosive. Even after power washing the place down, it destroyed the metal.InTooDeep, homeskillet, lovesthedrive and 8 others Thank this. -
So my dispatch luves to do everything by text. I sent an arrived message over the omnitracs ( company required task) but was held up because the skytrac broke down. So I’m not paying attention to the phone, finally got off loaded and send load empty message.

I get the feeling it was beyond trash before the new paint job. I know a lot of drivers love Volvo trucks, but everything I've seen indicates that they're crap. Yesterday I'm watching TV in my truck and hear a racket next to me. Driver in a Volvo is hammering the pins on the 5th wheel slider, and asks if I have a crow bar. I didn't, but got out to offer my assistance. The actuator broke that releases the pins on the 5th wheel, and he's trying to hammer them in so he can pull it back with a ratchet strap a couple notches because he's over 400 pounds on his drives. When I pointed out that he actually wants the 5th wheel forward to decrease the weight on the drives, he acted surprised. I told him to butt the back of the skid plate against the front of the trailer after he gets the pins in, and slide it forward. He asked if I would back up his truck while he watched the position, and I agreed. Inside of the truck was trashed. Completely different set up from an American made truck. I didn't even know where the auto trans shifter was. We finally got it, but it didn't do much to improve my opinion of a Volvo.lovesthedrive, LtlAnonymous, Rideandrepair and 6 others Thank this.

I check my phone and I have a load to pick up in Casa Grande to deliver next day before 1600 in Hart TX, it’s 1400 central time and I’m still in the driveway of Lucid motors. Dispatch doesn’t answer phone so I call the ops manager ( his desk is across the aisle from dispatch) tell him to tell travel agent I can’t make that delivery I’m short of hours (why have omnitracs you sit in front of a computer screen all day 2 keystrokes and all this info is there)

Now I get the let me make a call. I’m breaking this story up to mimic a real adult conversation please grab an adult beverage of your choice
