Now the conversation with farmer Tom is if you don’t mind shipping short we can just go load and whatever fits is what it will be (thinking my dispatch needs a lesson) he says sounds good to him. Where is your hay at? He tells me turn right out the driveway go to next road turn right and you will see 3 hay barns turn in there. I back up 6 steps look down the road and say you mean those 3 sheds just to the right. He says yup I’m going to the store for a cold soda do you want anything?

This is turning into a mini-series. Dang commercial breaks and all. Any moment now, some guy is gonna pop up and say he’s not a doctor, but plays one on TV.

 

So I toddle up to the load shed about a mile and a quarter in less then 5 minutes farmer Tom gets there points to where he wants me. I slide the tarp to the back. Farmer Tom has a John Deere 624 with a monster clamp. He sets a 3 high stack ( bales for you non ag guys) and sure enough it’s about 6 inches too tall. ( I’m like great this POS Volvo will barely pull its shadow up a hill)

 

What size? 3 wire Or half ton?

So 2 high and 24 bales is what we load I button up the connie down to the scale shed.

 

I think 3 wire but I will look tomorrow.

 

I didn’t even bother with straps I just eased over to the petro had dinner and started drinking. I will strap it in the morning when the temperature is tolerable.
