For those of you that have never seen an Idaho potatoes harvest up close... I know Carl personally and have been in most of the fields in the first video.

The second video is Wada Farms just down the road from my home... And I have picked up OTR loads of potatoes from the warehouse you see at the end.

On another note maybe some of you more experienced flatbed guys could give me a hint about the Texas panhandle— would you take a cheap load to get there?

So dispatch absolutely had to get 17,000 pounds of hay loaded to deliver by Thursday, which is par for the course with dispatch... but did anyone else catch that these two accounts are definitely controlled by the same person? Lololol

Changed my oil, today, Tomorrow it’s the trans oil. And replace clutch fan, Got a bunch stuff to do. Looking under the bunk today at all the junk, makes me question my sanity. I’ve definitely become a Pack rat over the years. Going to lighten the Truck up a bit.

Depends on what was next. Would I take a $2.00 load of moderate miles to go get a good $4.00 load on good miles. High probability.

yes but the question is what is the historical trends of the panhandle. ( I’m new to OTR flatbed) I’m already convinced that my travel agent is throwing darts at a board.

It’s all about lanes. That’s what you need to know. With a connie, products are also going to play into the mix. What products come out of the place/area your going to load? And where do they go? Does that destination have good freight? If not, how far to a good lane? Does the rate cover that relocation?
Lots of variables to look at.

Typically, that area is energy sector products, steel and copper. That’s not all, just a large component of freight.
