I'm unsure about what you are unsure about?
Let me throw some numbers at you so we have a starting point.
Load pays $1200 all in
If we call $200 of that fuel surcharge that leaves $1000 as "Line Haul"
If no Accessory pay like driver unload or layover then you should see:
Fuel Surcharge $200
tractor pay 65% = $650
To the truck pay = $850
If you are running your own trailer.
Trailer pay 7% = $70
If trailer is a refer IIRC %10 = $100
Will be a separate line item on the second page of the settlement.
What if it Snows?

Not sure if it is faded memories or things really have changed. Not a big fast food eater. Sure there have been times that was the quickly available thing, and I needed to put something in the stomach.
For some reason, the last week or so, I have been wanting a chili-cheese dog. Up to today, I have resisted the craving. Well, I should have continued to do that. Not that it was horrible, it just was not good. The last time I had one, I tried Sonic. It was OK, just not great. Think that has cured me for another year or so.Last edited: Sep 16, 2020

I remember they had base camp set up at the ski resort last year.
Currently east bound closure is just outside Naches. I overnighted there a week or 2 ago when the Evans Canyon fire started and watched the fire along the crest.WesternPlains, Dale thompson, LtlAnonymous and 7 others Thank this. -

The lanes I ran (West of I25) had very few drop and hook loads that paid well. I may have done 3 or 4 D&H a month for the first 6 months. I purchased my personal trailer 6 months into the contract and never looked back.
I did not get load alerts for preloaded or Drop trailer freight. On occasion I would get a phone call of "Please help me out and run this preloaded" because the agent did not realize I had my trailer. Usually the rate was so low that I was not even interested in it if they would cross dock it. Or it would be going to a bad freight area for me and the rate would not cover the deadhead out.
I believe Dave has a different perspective.........WesternPlains, LtlAnonymous, LoSt_AgAiN and 6 others Thank this. -

Many times I would hook to the least offensive empty I could find. At that time most seemed to have bad tires, flaky ABS systems, and expired 120 day inspections.
One time I was surprised that I hooked to a 3 month old trailer. Was great till I realized it was spring ride and my next 3 loads where "air ride required". Took me over a month to off that P.O.S.
Got tired of playing trailer roulette in the Russian style....WesternPlains, Dale thompson, LtlAnonymous and 7 others Thank this.
