Usually pull a vacuum for an hour,
Then watch it for 30 minutes, making sure there’s no leaks. This time, I had ran it only 5-10 and 15 min. to check for leaks. But today I ran it over an hour, and it still drained down. I realize the vacuum causes the moisture to boil out of the system. I’ve checked all connections, hoses, everything, except the evaporator itself in the bunk. I will check it tomorrow, but I doubt it’s leaking, because such a big leak would show dye well. I’m thinking it’s in the gauges, or the high side valve core, since I had a hard time seating it, after drilling the old one out. Maybe it’s in too far now, affecting the quick connector on the guage set, I don’t know. Just going to pull a vacuum and fill it, right away, since all was well before the valve core was leaking. I hear it could be the compressor seal, leaking more so only one way. I’ve been doing my Own for 22 yrs. Learn something new about a/c every time. I appreciate the tip.
What if it Snows?

I would like to ammend the above post to my prefferrence.
The install that I will do will also be the en masse type radiator using a 55 gallon barrel with automotive coolant and a bolier sight glass on the barrel. Then a simple glance to tell me if it needs fluid. Tho these engines are supplied with air cooling with a greater cost (difficulty of casting an air cooled cylinder). Then for a fuel tank it would probably be a 10 gallon tank. Yet who knows, I may get a 15 gallon metal bulk oil tank for fuel.
The nice thing anout tthese engines is the injectors are designed to handle heavy fuel like crank case oil. So instead of throwing away the fuel oil to a local garage I can use it to create power instead.LoSt_AgAiN, Dave_in_AZ and Dale thompson Thank this. -

I've been coming here for a very long time. Moved here cause it was cheaper than the bail I would need on a regular basis living back in a city or anywhere with a large population of idiots.
An look...I chose right.
Mainland 2020: riots, looting, cops going nuts, people going nuts, wildfires, earthquakes, Covid.
Sandbar 2020: Covid, beer, grill, sand. Oh and hurricanes, tho...we've only had 1 so far this year.
We did almost riot back in August, but then the tain went away.
Sadly we all share the misery that is politicians, and politics.
We even have wild horses. Feel free to ooo and ahhh as needed. Not my photo of the horses.
